I cite the opinion of my employer who returned form this seminar in full:

«This time the participants of Status’s seminar in Kiev were delivered by air. We have flight at 7 a.m, a few minutes after 8 a.m everyone were in the hotel.Ther check-in was at 12 o’clock in the afternoon, so the participants were recommended to have a walk without offering them a cup of tea or coffee. It was stated that the seminar begins at 01.30. a.m . As not everybody wanted to amuse by themselves in the hotel’s neighborhoods within 5 hours, part of invited persons came to the city and returned closer to the meeting with Karim Rashid. Karim finished answer questions almost at 7 p.m., after hat everybody were invited to have a dinner. We had the opportunity to communicate with the designer in person. A huge quantity of persons interested to do this wasn’t observed.

The returning to Odessa was planned on the next day, by air also at 5 p.m. The organizers didn’t provide any program for this day at all. The transfer to Borispol was promised at 12 o’clock in the afternoon, but not many people wanted to amuse ourselves in the hotel’s neighborhoods again and then to wait for the flight at the airport…”

The fact that Karim Rashid presented and even talked sweetened a little the impression of the employers from the seminar. I also wanted to see him but I couldn’t come. According to my employers all his time Karim devoted to self presentation and sure he took a notice that exists the notion «designer», in his opinion and also exists the notion «stylist». Of course he reckoned himself in the first notion and Ukrainians from the presented to the second one.

I have never be delighted with his synthetic and aniline design, but the fact that the style of Karim Rashid is recognizable already is worthy of attention. On the other hand, who needs the opinions, if he got money and according to him hundreds of thousands for his ideas and projects…

A huge quantity of weaknesses gather a huge quantity of people at one place. The most terrible thing is that I have absolutely the same weaknesses also… I met a lot of friends at the gallery at Pushkinskaya Street. I have met very different people united by common weaknesses. Sure all those present have a lot of differences.. but… the vanity is one of the most vivid vices, it was so noticablу this evening.

After the performance everyone rose in applause and to the fullest. You bet!

There are no more such a genial ironical writers-actors.

And how many millions of Ukrainians must be colourless-grey for one Zhvanetsky?

Probably 30-35…

All others, espesially those who appear on stage, just a  shadow of the great writer-artist-Odessan.

After his performance I wanted to keep silent …  and I didn’t want to think about work at all.

Everything that could be said about Bоris Litvak has been written and said already many times.
He is really very great man with very big and different history.
The motto of Boris Litvak is: „One should do good silently. So that noboby will know about it“.
As far back as he was a director of Odessa School of Olympic Reserve, Boris Litvak take the lead in creation of charitable foundation «Futurum» and became the founder of The Children Rehabilitation Center which was opened in 1996 year and known among the residents of Odessa as «Hоuse with angel». Currently more than 250 children of age from 0 up to 17 years old with the diagnosis infantile cerebral paralysis come to the center for free medical care every day.
Personally I have been convinced of the huge wisdom of great resident of Odessa during our meetings.

I say Happy Birthday to Boris Litvak!

Yesterday I have visited the art exhibition of  maestro Nikas Safronov. The sponsor of the exhibition and as it was followed from the selspresentation the patron of the artist Mr. Baluh has presented among other things the  portraits from the personal collection. There were many «serious» persons, like my friend says at the exhibition. There were still more journalists there. Recently such an exhibitions were organized by Tatyana and Rudu Binovskiy. There can’t be any snobbery and arrogance in principal and the VIP persons  invited on the opening have coexisted with people from art and with just the residents of Odessa who are not indifferent to art. Tatyana is the artist… The artist indeed. The yesterday’s exhibition has gathered only «serious» persons… The residents od Odessa who hasn’t the invitations have stayed at the entrance…

It is a pitty that now Binovskaya will be a tourist in Odessa also.

The buffalo with hearts stayed to remember about the artist, gallery owner and resident of Odessa.
